My name is Melanya. I am 62 years old and live in Yerevan, in the Nerkin Shengavit district. There are 7 people in our family: me, my sister (who has a second-degree disability), my unemployed son, his wife, and their three young children — my beloved grandchildren.

Years ago, I fell seriously ill and urgently needed treatment abroad. To save my life, we had no choice but to take out a large loan using our only home as collateral. My sister and I pledged our house to the bank.

Today, the total loan debt has reached over $33,000, and the bank is about to take our home.

I work as a cashier, but due to my health condition, I cannot work more. We have no additional income or any support. Our entire family depends on my small salary.
